Welcome to 2012
The year has started with the Board meeting to do the planning for this year. Some of the projects are ongoing but new projects will enhance our core services to deliver even more benefits for organisations that are members with us.
- We just have been granted a Community Internship to investigate an Operational Assessment Framework and to increase the numbers of Maori volunteering.
- Our training calendar has been organised, we will work closely together with DIA and Sport Hawke's Bay to deliver taining for management, governance and effective volunteer management.
- We are planning a Volunteer Award Ceremony as part of the National Volunteer Awareness Week
- Our successful 7-Day event will be repeated in June
- Napier City Council, Atomic Youth Centre and us will investigate youth volunteering
- The website development will move into stage 2
- We will expand to CHB for volunteers and organisations to have the benefit of our service

Nominations accepted for Civic Honours Awards 2012The awards honour individuals, groups or organisations which have made a significant contribution to their community and the district.Award catergories include Arts and Culture, Health and Welfare, Sport and Recreation, Education and Youth, New Volunteer and Youth Volunteer. Nominations forms available from Hastings, Havelock North and Flaxmere libraries, or from reception at Hastings District Council. We welcome nominations for people who have contributed to the community of Hastings district by giving their time voluntarily to the service of others.
