Benefits of Membership
If you are reading this, then you obviously believe that your community group or organisation can benefit by having access to the services that Volunteering Hawkes Bay provides to help with the valuable work that you do in the community.
So, what is in it for you
We will meet with you to discuss all your volunteering needs:
Volunteer Requests
- We will support you to write the best request and job title for volunteers to get attracted to your job.
- We add the job request to our website www.volunteeringhb.org.nz and on the national website www.volunteernow.org.nz
- We add your job requests in the clubs and notices section in Napier and Hastings Mail.
- We talk about volunteering at Radio Kidnappers
Recruitment and Referral of Volunteers
- Volunteers who have been recruited by us have been given three referrals. Details of your contact person, email and phone contact and job information will be on the referral form. They may or may not take the form with them as proof of the referral.
- We will email you with the details of the person who wants to volunteer for you. We would like you to contact them within the next 48 hours to keep the motivation alive.
- Once the match has been made please contact us to let us know. If the volunteer is unsuitable, doesn't want the job, or any other reason, also let us know.
- We record all information for funding and statistical purposes.
Information
- We will provide information about volunteering and volunteer management. You might need information on how to recruit, train and supervise volunteers, etc.
- You want to set up a volunteer programme and recruit a coordinator or manager of volunteers. We make generic manuals available.
- Any information about networking, volunteering, and training will be sent to you through our email lists.
Training
- We provide training for management of volunteers.
- We organise network forums for managers/coordinators of volunteers every two months, a platform where you can discuss all volunteering issues with others.
Promotion

National Volunteer Awareness Week, (second week in June), International Volunteer Day
- (5th December), and the International Appreciation Day for Managers/Coordinators of Volunteers (1st November) are opportunities for celebrating and recognising your volunteers and coordinators.
- We organise displays, awards, newspaper stories, and lunches with local members of Parliament. You can participate in all occasions, or use our networks to advertise.

Annual Subscription
The annual subscription is set at the Volunteering Hawkes Bay Annual General Meeting. The financial year ends on the 30th June. Fees paid by new members within three months of the end of the financial year are carried over to the end of the following financial year.
Volunteering Hawkes Bay is GST registered and our fees are GST inclusive.
- Income up to $49,999 $60
- Income up to $99,999 $90
- Income up to $199,999 $120
- Income up to $299,999 $150
- Income greater than$300,00 $180
If payment of fees would cause hardship to your organisation, you can apply in writing for the fee to be waived.
